From The Boss's Desk - 8/16

Greetings, wrestling fans. I'm Jim, the boss of Fantasy Online Wrestling. I would like to say a few words about the new competition format being implemented, some announced matches, and what you can do to join FWO as a wrestler.

First off, the response has been overwhelming since the launch of FWO. We've been inundated with inquiries from men and women who want to become wrestlers at this studio. If you are a woman of legal age in the United States, continue to send in your resumes and we will contact you if you appear to have what it takes. If you are a man, sorry to tell you that our male wrestlers have been thoroughly screened and there are no openings currently.

With the superb demand for new women wanting in, we think we've figured out a way to accomodate new entries as well as keep the current competiton running smoothly. We plan on making FWO a federation with three tiers. The bottom tier is for new wrestlers embarking on their careers at FWO. This will be called the "Developmental Division". One step up is the "Professional Division". Although each division will have a wrestler cap, this will likely be the largest division. The top tier will be called the "Premier Division". This will consist of the top six female and top four male wrestlers. To challenge for the woman's title, you must be in the premier division. There will eventually be a mixed wrestling championship, and when that is installed, only premier division wrestlers may challenge for it. Besides titles, wrestlers in the Premier Division will receive greater coverage on this site. While a handful of Professional Division encounters may be covered in a single post, Premier Division matches will more likely receive a 20+ picture account of a single fight.

Wrestlers will have a chance to be promoted or relegated based on a number of factors including record and how they are rated by the studio committee. There will also be a point system where mixed matches, or say boxing matches, will not count towards a wrestler's divisional record. Instead, they will be fighting for divisional points. These specialty matches will usually count for a lot more than a regular win, and will go a long way in determining who challenges for a title and who has to face a relegation fight. A lot still needs to be sorted out, but I wanted to give you a tatste of what's to come at Fantasy Wrestling Online.

In that spirit, I am pleased to announce our first relegation match of sorts. This week, Paloma and Dizzy will be squaring off. The winner continues on in the main cometition with the chance of earning a spot in the Premier Division. The loser will be offered a developmental contract. These ladies have been to the only ones to have lost their mixed matches. Although they likely faced the stiffest competition, I thought this will be a good setting for our first women's match at FWO. Look for that match later this week!

That's all for now. Enjoy the wrestling!
